THE COLLECTION
In the sixties, Pieter Zuidema and Willemien Uyterlinde started to collect art. Their children Sytse and Jetske eventually began to take a gradually increasing part in collecting. There now is a considerable family collection.
RESEARCH
When dealing with graphic arts, research is a practically indispensable factor that comes into play, since graphic works are reproducible rather than unique pieces of art such as paintings. Especially in the case of prominent artists such as Chagall, research is essential to determine the authenticity of the artwork and of signatures.
DOCUMENTATION
Because of the number of graphic works in the collection, it has become necessary to thoroughly document each piece of art. In doing this, we attempt to make use of existent sources as much as possible.
EXHIBITIONS
For ten years, exhibitions have been created using art from the collection. We exhibit mainly at non-profit institutions where the art may be viewed freely; for instance, in churches.
GALLERIE
Renovating our house at the Spiegelgracht in Amsterdam, we saw fit to take a gallery space in use in the lower part of our house in July of 1999.
In our galleries art taken exclusively from the WUYT collection is on sale.
